47 Degrees is pleased to announce that on the 21st and 22nd of May in Cadiz, Spain we will offer our first certified training course in Scala.

The course, Fast Track to Scala will be taught by 47 Degrees CTO, Raul Raja and Typesafe Trainer Markus Jura and held at the University of Cadiz, Faculty of Business. During the two day couse, we will cover the following aspects of the Scala language:

• Introduction
• First steps in Scala
• OO basics
• Testing
• Collections and functional programming
• For-expressions and loops
• Inheritance and traits
• Pattern Matching
• Dealing with optional values

The course is designed for developers who are interested in Scala and want to learn to program in the language. After finishing the course, students will be able to:

• Develop applications in Scala
• Apply the functional programming style in Scala
• Use the fundamental Scala tools
• Be confident to start using Scala in production applications
