The 2016 Big Data conference, J on the Beach concluded in Málaga, Spain this weekend, and 47 Degrees was proud to be a Gold Sponsor. The event also featured a presentation by two of our Senior Software Engineers and certified Spark developers Federico Fernandez and Francisco Perez entitled “Spark Tips for Devs & Ops.”
In the presentation they cover a few key points to keep in mind while implementing a regular Kafka/Spark Streaming application including some of the most common issues and how to fix them. They also show how to improve a Spark App from two different points of view: Code quaility, and Spark Tuning. The final goal is to have a robust and resilient Spark Application that’s deployable in a production-like environment.
