What a bunch of Scala newbies learned while building the back-end for an online ordering system. We’ll describe some simple patterns that emerged, good and bad. We’ll also talk about things that surprised us about Akka clustering and why we wished we hadn’t chosen Slick. We’d also like to discuss our Spray routing structure and solicit suggestions on possible abstractions that would allow API documentation ala Swagger and routes to be generated from the same description
