Scala at the Sea April Meetup
Join us for the April meeting of Scala at the Sea in Seattle!
On April 11th, 2017, Sumit Khanna will be speaking on BigSense.
BigSense: an Environmental Sensor Network
“BigSense is an environment sensor network (temperature, humidity, pH, dB meter, etc). Sumit will discuss the evolution of BigSense, showing samples of his work and how he improved it iteratively from its Java beginnings to more functional refactors; taking advantage of many Scala features.
BigSense is open source and is currently used to teach classes at the University of Dayton.”
Doors open at 6:00 PM with the talk beginning at 6:30 PM. Come early for networking, food, and drinks! Thanks to our sponsor, WhitePages.
The 47 Degrees headquarters will also be holding open office hours prior to the meetup. Stop by our Pioneer Square digs, grab a coffee or beer and chat Scala and Spark with us from 1:00 - 5:00 PM.
To get to the WhitePages office, enter through the 4th Ave. entrance and take the escalator up to the 3rd floor and then the elevator to the 16th floor.
